Blue ButterflyA Poem by Aleah Mullarkeya poem for everyone who feels the same wayI saw a blue butterfly today, Beautiful but unknowing of the truth. Its wings were tattered and torn. Bleeding red, but it still goes on. Dancing on the wind, fading in the shadows. Going here, going there, but always looking down. Never up, never looking up. It feels so alone, alone in this world The other butterflies can't see the things it hides. Why can't they see its ripped wings? Can't you see it's lost inside? Crying itself to sleep at night? Screaming in its own mind, keeping it all inside. Holding it in and pushing it down it's another pill to swallow now. Feeling the world spin as it goes down. Hazy and blurred I saw a blue butterfly today.
