You, me, and the morning

You, me, and the morning

A Poem by Christina Reed

"When we sleep, we commit no sin."
-Erasmus of Rotterdam
It is soft, gold-lighted and we are tied in between each other.
Nothing can ever disturb this morning.
The noises outside cannot affect this feeling.
Your skin, soft as the fur of the wild rabbit,
Your eyes, smooth, round and blue,
staring in my eyes, then down my chest,
And down towards my legs.
A smile begins to crinkle in the corner of your eyes, it spreads like fire
To lift your cheeks and then turmoil into a cheeky wrinkled smile all over your mouth.
Your slender hands on my shoulders as they drip down my arm and I hope it means love.
I am not wearing blush, nor mascara, my face is as naked as the truth, I live for this moment.
You, us, morning, me, love, sin, sleep.
