Carbondioxide

Carbondioxide

A Poem by Christina Reed

I am looking at the bubbles in my carbonated drink, they rise to the top and they dissappear.
Nothing lasts forever, but I hope it is this way for a while.

The feelings of my heart are not a metaphor for the bubbles in my drink, they stay, they linger, they keep
bubbling to the surface.

The carbondioxide in my drink only stays for a moment, but I hope these bubbles don't dissappear to the surface.
