Much like the wild salmon

Much like the wild salmon

A Poem by Christina Reed

The light from the lamppost is competing with the shine from your nylon stocking, reminds me of the shine from the side of a wild salmon as it escapes.
You, much like the wild salmon, escape the deadly claws of reality as you twist your tail at life.
Is it your beachy hair, your bold eyes or your slender arms that captivate me?
Nay, it is your zest, your spark, the brightness of your soul. The harsh fabric of your denim jacket rubs against my arm as we walk home, having the most intresting conversations of my life.
But like Oscar Wilde said: "Many people exist. Few people live."

I was drawn to this one by the name. You're genuinely my favorite writer that I've come across thus far, your words are easy but heavy, they're a perfect paintbrush for the mental image. I love everything about this one.

Wow, thank you so much. That really means alot! xx
I come from a family of fishermen. I've read two of your poems and both use salmon. I personally like that.

This poem is short and real. You seem to be alive.
