Nightmare

Shivers fill my heart with fear

Now it is time for my sleeping to come near

Anxiousness and dread is all I fear

That creepy monster hears my fear

I yell out

No one is there

I have tossed and turned

I know that monster is near

Ptsd is a common fear

No one believes me

I scream and yell out until no end

I toss and turn

The battle with this demon is really real

I punch, kick, yell

My room is right down the hall

No one checks on me

Demon slaying is all I know

When you are plagued by demons from past experiences sleep must be frightening when you know what is to come. As you say it seems real and it is hard for others to understand hat you are going through. Well done for writing this and I wish you the best. Hopefully you can find some help for this awful affliction. The worst thing is that often it come from duty done for country and then you are forgotton.
