Jumping at shadows, and being ever fearful
Turning away from those who know me to stay away from the memories
Not wanting to dredge up a past that holds me in chains
Feeling time standing still and my life on hold
Your shadow standing at the edge of vision
Weighting down the promise of the future
Excising you impossible as my wounds never heal
Your memory wrapped in joy and sorrow
Hating the past yet reliving it daily
Hating you, yet knowing you're bound to my life
Wanting the past to leave me and never to return
Anger brewing feeling a slave to my mistakes
Wanting to break these invisible chains of memory
Wanting my freedom to choose, to live to love
Wanting, ever wanting
all reviews welcome. (have to clarify lol) this was written from a friends perspective when she was going through a tough time. i'm still happily insanely, madly in love with my gf :)

For whoever you wrote it for. I enjoyed it.
First of all Albert thank you for leaving those kind comments on my poem I appreiciate it very much..I have read your poem twice and each time I find something different in the theme here..your memories are you want to leave behind because they are to painful and also I feel a hint of sorrow at what you had once but have had to walk away from..A strong and truthful write my friend..Diane
babe u have a gift of words even when they aren't those of your own heart.. a capacity to read someone elses feelings and put them into words for them. a very well written heart-rending poem.
for the curious... I didn't break his heart..lol we're still very much in love...;)
beautiful... correct me if im wrong, but after seeing these poems, one after one, i can see you're hurt... badly... i know exactly how you feel. like the ones we once held close to us with all our hearts hates us, and we're left standin with the stab wounds on our backs. feeling like you want everything about them to end in your heart, and move on, yet you find it horrifically impossible because you're still unwilling to forget... trust me, whoever you're upset over, they're not worth it, you will move on, and feel the light of day once again. just remember you deserve better.
smiles,
jess
