The Memory of You

The Memory of You

A Poem by Albert Freeman

I gaze upon the ocean, thoughts turning inward
 Memory upon memory recalled
The way you laughed, the way you made me smile
I ache with the memory of it all
The past weighing me down
 Longing to be with you
The ocean breeze unable to soothe what i had and lost
Bitter tears do well up as i recall our last days together
If only, is a thought that flickers wistfully in my head
Time lost, time i wasted not saying how much i needed you
How much i loved you
This ache in me never to leave
Wishing that i had spent every hour and every minute holding you
The tears falling silently down my face
 Missing you, wanting you back
The ocean crashing in mourning with me
Unable to forgive the time lost
I miss you, i miss you
I always will

This is a beautiful piece! You've captured every emotion in this poem wonderfully! The reader can feel the pain, the heartache, the overall sadness and regret. There is a nice flow to this piece, a nice rythym and it reads so easily it's hard not to miss the meaning. I think you've done a wonderful job with this and I enjoyed reading it immensely!

its very sad when we fail to have the courage to tell the truth of our feelings to the ones we profess to love. nothing worse than regrets for the past. a well written poem babe xxx
