As True Night Falls

I sit at my desk and think of you

I know you're sleeping and dreaming such vivid dreams

I'm feeled with wonder and anticipation

Eagerly I await you to awaken from afar

The temperature is dropping

yet thoughts of you keeps me growing warmer

I stepped outside earlier and looked at the sky

awaiting your words, awaiting your thoughts

As true night falls I look forward to the stars

by chance I wish there was a falling star to wish you here

As dawn approaches you the sun is long gone

What is it about this time of the day that leaves me at my most optimistic?

I ponder and smile knowing it is because soon I'll see

the first of your words

with true night approaching I know I'll smile more

talking to you has always brought out the best in me

I sit here as true night falls

and I think of you

waiting and hoping to see you again

the darkness comes and my anticipation grows

I sit here and wait as I always will for you

Can you write another beautiful scene such as this? I think indeed you could. I peered through your looking glass and saw Alice staring back with smiling eyes. Shed be so proud of the imagery you enveloped in your write.

That is a very moving piece, it seems to be happy and loving, but at the same time sad and a little dark. Very good work with mixing the two.
