Pawns In Play

Razgar Amalic, Lord Commander of The Cross, halts his horse and twists in the saddle to take a long look back at the column of soldiers under his command. Two hundred men---pathetic, was his opinion. A good ten years before, these same two hundred would not have made it pass the first week of training. It is in his opinion that the order is in need of reform, though he is not one to openly complain.

The Order no longer held absolute sway over the church and the Meis Relai where once again traveling about like they had no worries. He was determined that the witches would not hold court over the world. They had been given a chance and the world had burned for it. It would not happen again.

The Lord Commander of The Cross lights his pipe and motions Tradasar, his loyal captain to turn the troops back. For certain they would be ready come years end. Only after that would be devote his time to building up the Orders power---especially the Cross. If some died in the process…well, it would be for the greater good of all…

North of the Plains of Erthe, along the chasm known as the Gap of Slayers, a man takes a reverent step forward and clutches a divine book to his chest with tears of joy. Turning to the woman standing stiffly a few steps behind he laughs and it echoes across the gap…

In the Sea of Avata on one of the feared Isle of Pirates, the Marauder-King Baik the Blood roars with laughter at the information he has just received. It seemed that the worlds nations where preparing for war. He had just finished listening to the fifth emissary from one of these nations make an overture for his “assistance”. Was almost a pity to kill this one, since the offer had been more than generous in some areas, but Baik the Blood was an equal opportunity raider…

Off the Isle’s south of Ealdizar strange sightings of metallic birds are reported. What seemed even more incredulous were the rumors of a vast armada of thousands of ships…
