Prologue: IIIA Chapter by Albert FreemanWorking on the description.
The Chaos Unleashed: III Caora ran a delicate hand through her silken gold tresses and gazed upon the White Sea from the couch she lounged upon near her balcony. Like everything in the world, at least for the foreseeable future, it would require a new name to adequately represent its new look. The sea seemed to have a more pinkish coloring to it these days. No doubt it was due to the tens of thousands-perhaps a few million-being sacrificed to it.
She stretched luxuriously and cast a decidedly coy look in Madrivin's direction. A simper and smile that would have melted any mans heart followed, but he simply returned it with a blank look of distaste. Perhaps he no longer had a heart.
"Why do you keep looking out there?" the former lord of Telorasia inquired with a glower.
"I am looking upon a new world, Mad One. A world in which we, the Exalted, rule."
"You forget yourself woman. We rule a step below our Lord."
Caora fixed Madrivin with a cool impassive stare. She was tempted to have it out with the Mad One, Compact or no Compact. She had allowed him to get away with far too much as it was. But to do so would interfere with her carefully laid plans. No, now was not the time.
She looked out up at the sky and drummed her nails again the sides of the couch. It was apparent that the sky was starting to darken. For now the Compact was in her interest to keep going. It would be interesting to see just how long it would have to hold. During the early stages of world rule there would be no strife on her part.
"What about the Drahkin?" Madrivin snarled. He gave a start as if surprised he had been the one to voice what was unspoken.
Caora cast a sidewards look at Madrivin. She for one was not going to challenge any of the tainted ones. Not until she had a better fix on them at least. How Tars Marin had been duped into doing such a thing thought to have been impossible escaped her understanding. Better that they be allowed to destroy one another and those foolish enough to challenge the madness. Why the-No, she would not question the Great Lord. He had a reason for everything that was far beyond her comprehension.
"I have a feeling Mad One," Caora said with a controlled smile," that others are taking care of the Drahkin."
