Ch. 6

A Chapter by Alazne

Together this time we went father into the woods. In the midst of searching a sudden jolt came into my, not a good sign at all.

“Some one is in trouble.” I said before I started a sprint towards camp. Suddenly a deep pain came over me and I quickly winced. I wasn’t bleeding nor did I sense any wounds on me. Going against my instant sense that screamed to not do it, I mentally did a sweep of the area with my mind, and that’s when it hit me….hard. It wasn’t until just then that I was violently shaken by an instant jab of pain I stopped completely making me collide right into Kaname. We both landed on the ground but at the moment all I could do was suck in big gulps of air. Somehow I managed to stop gasping ,”Tanya,” I said between large breaths to Kaname. I could get the vibe that he was puzzled but he simply grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me up. “Something happened at camp.”, it probably isn’t the best thing at the moment to tell him, a vampire hunter but I was running at of options. Not questioning whether I was right or wrong he nodded and quickly sprinted towards camp. Having no time I suppressed at best I could when I felt one of my “sessions” coming on. There was no doubt that the pain I felt was like Tanya’s. which meant that some one was tampering with nature for her to feel that way. Now having Kaname gone I was all business. While I never truly peered in the minds of plants before , I desperately needed to find the culprit for the plants and ultimately Tanya’s pain. I took off the glove of my hand, and gently placed it onto the bark of a tree. Instantly I was greeted by a familiar blood curling scream of my pass. A reminder of how things went so terribly wrong when I used my power before. Instantly I took my hand away from the tree. What was I doing? I seriously questioned myself in times like these. I had vowed never to use this part of my power ever again, over and over again. The last thing I wanted is to make the same mistake a second time. Yet as I was stricken by another jab of Tanya’s pain I knew I couldn’t postpone my decision any longer. With a shaky hand I placed it back on the tree branch. First I focused on my surroundings, until suddenly my mind was pulled in by some unknown force.

“Hmmm what an interesting child you are, there aren’t many who are capable of astro projection even among vampires. My eyes instantly flashed open at the sound of the girls musically voice that felt like it was reinforced by thousands of years worth of wisdom. Can you image my surprise when thinking I’d see an old women I found a girl that couldn’t be more than 14. Her hair was way past her feet lying on the floor, in silky emerald waves and her eyes were a deep amber color.

“Who are you.” I asked brushing aside my surprising. I was running out of time therefore rushing couldn’t be helped.

“My strait to the point I see. Well I might as well tell you my name it’s Ibis, the guardian of all nature in this Labyrinth, but I didn’t think you are here just to know who I am.” I nodded.

“I need to know exactly who is causing the plants harm Ibis.” I said , she nodded.

“Yes I believe that the more the plants are hurting it causes damage to your friend and ultimately even I’m effected.” she said anger flashing before her eyes for a brief moment at the thought of some one hurting the plants

“Yes that’s why I need to find out quick who it is.’, for a moment Ibis simply scanned me up and down and an amused grin lit her face.

“Yes I supposed that would be best. From what I know it’s a vampire from the council.” she spat out the last part in distaste.” But truthfully I’m not sure if your friends will be able to handle her .” I quickly caught where she was going.” Oh what’s with the scary face, it’s the truth and you know it. You who has the power to read minds, for you and even possibly that masked boy I doubt you’d have problem.”

“Kaname?”, she smiled impishly.

“Oh yes despite his appearance just like you he wields a fairly large amount of power..” she then walked over to me instinctively I stepped back but she grabbed my arm and with a quick maneuver managed to get my gloves and sleeves off. Taking my hand she pressed it against her cheeks. Fear instantly rose.” My I was quite curious and it seemed my guess was correct, you have the hands of a killer.” she then smirked and I violently pulled away from her. Regaining my composer I glared at her.” Now ,now you mustn’t be mad when one is simply stating the truth Abel.”, I realized right then it looked like she had just received a shock. Causing me to realize then just how weary her face looked under the playful fake grin she had displayed throughout our meeting.

“It’s happening again isn’t it.” I stared at her surprised expression.” How do you know-”, I gave her a deadly smile.

“Not everything can be figured out so easily Ibis, especially not me. She gave a quick laugh.

“I suppose so, well you should go now, the attacks on the plants are becoming more frequent, which means that your friend is most likely suffering more and more.” I nodded. Slowly I got into focus and in an instant I had returned to my body leaving Ibis.”, I look forward to meeting you again, were the words that floated into my head. I nodded and said,” Ditto.” in response to the message Ibis had telepathically sent. It was to bad the relaxation lasted only an instant as I got hit with another jab of pain, no doubt from Tanya, which couldn’t have been good. Once again breaking the oath I made myself , I scanned the forest with my mind for any sign of Tanya and in a couple of elongated minutes I managed to track her and the guys all together right near the camp. And while both guys were emitting no vibes I could tell that Tanya was in pain and worried. Taking no time to decided on what to do upon arrival I sprinted towards camp.

Figuring where to go wasn’t really a problem even without using my power because the closer I got to Tanya the more unbearable the pain we both became. After more like staggering through the last portion of the forest I ended up back at camp, getting right in the middle of a scene I probably should have stayed out of. “S**t.”

“Hahahahahaha!” , her voice was loud piercing and just down right annoying.,” well what do we have here?”, the rather tall female vamp exclaimed. Her hair an ocean of emerald curls, but not even her gorgeous hair could cover up her amber eyes that were huge and bug like.

“Abel!”, Tanya managed to gasp. I was shocked to find that all the plants around us had withered and died, which explained why Tanya was feeling so much pain but even that couldn’t make me prepared enough to find Tanya, Allen, and even Kaname suspended in a giant spider like web. While to the naked eye it would have looked like they were floating in mid air, the moonlight coming off of a particularly eerie full moon illuminated each silk like tendril of string, and it was thanks to that, that I managed to avoid all the sticky strings that were practically everywhere clearly this wasn‘t going to be an easy fight. “Are you guys ok?”, a harsh laugh escaped from Allen.

“Dos it look like we are any where near okay?”, Tanya spat out. She was in a bitter mood, but I didn‘t blame her since it seemed to take all the strength she had just to speak.

“My what an interesting bunch of young fledglings I have in my territory. What a delectable feast you will make for me and my children. All I had to say was what the f**k? Of course me and my wonderful luck made me find out the answer of exacting e=what she was talking about all to soon. Hundreds of arachnids started to spill out and with them came a putrid smell, that came out as a thick purple wave killing all the plants and living organisms that it came in contact with. Tanya gave out blood curling scream. I reflexively covered my ears, as the a memory from the past came flooding in. a scream just like Tanya’s flooded my head except this one belonged to the person I had once cared about the most. Monster! They had shouted at me at the time. Just remembering that accursed night made me flinch and shiver, everything I had been called though I deserved. I had no more time to reminisce in the past. Quickly realizing it was indeed some type of poison drifting through the air, I shouted,” Quick don’t breathe it in!”, but for me it was too late. In an attempt to help everyone I got a good amount of poisoned that I breathed in. soon my through felt like it was ion fire, like it was being stab in all directions by needles, add that to the pain I was already feeling and well, I guess you could say it just wasn’t my day.
