After waking up to the cold and smooth hard wood floor, I started to question just where the heck I was waking up from. Giving an annoyed groan at the alarm clock that wouldn’t shut up I quickly went over to press the snooze button. My back then started to get stiff and even my muscles ached, but considering I ended up sleeping on the floor, it came as no surprise. “Every single time.” I muttered. Another one of Reina’s habits I suppose would be , kicking me off the bed and then looking perfectly innocent as I peer over to inspect the person who deprived me of a spot to sleep in. at times she truly surprises even now as I looked at her , she was sleepy perfectly strait, not one flaw in her perfect posture. So how the heck did she manage to kick me entirely off with a pillow and blanket, I guess will always be a mystery to me.

Looking at my alarm again I noticed it was time to get up. Considering that the lunar festival is today and we were going to finally meet Black Jack, m and Reina were going to need all the time we could get to find out just where the heck the meeting place actually is. Waking up Reina was no easy challenge but after pulling the sheets off of her and picking up the mattress so that Reina landed on the ground with a big thump and a large array of curses as she sat up annoyed.

“Glad you’re awake bestie.”, I said with a devilish grin, she seemed glared at me as she scratched the back of her head and drowsily started to stand. Feeling more awake now after getting a little revenge I stepped into the bathroom of course I really didn’t know what I had walked into until I closed the door and a warm wave of steam and the sound of the shower being turned off greeted me. Instinctively I whirled around to find Mr. Mask( I know creative aren’t I?) standing only 5 feet away from me in nothing but a towel that was wrapped around his waist. Well this was awkward. I knew that the heat that was rising to my cheeks was unstoppable, and while I could only stutter an apology, I couldn’t help but shut up as I caught the sight of a large array of intricate designs that marked his tattoo, a hunter’s tattoo at that, but even the fact that he was a vampire hunter didn’t faze me as much as what the tattoo hid. Underneath a deep ,pinkish scar that appeared to run from his shoulder, while snaking up his neck beyond to wear his mask was covering his face.

“What the hell ? Get out here!” he shouted angrily.

“Sorry.“ I said one last time as I quickly opened the door just enough to slide through. Pictures of his scar seemed to just flow into my head as I entered my room. I felt bad, for some reason, I know I didn’t do anything bad, at least not intentionally, but I could sense that he was mad, and along with anger I felt something that even surprised me…….fear. It was then that I realized that Reina was standing in front of me with a questioning look.

“What happened to you?”, she asked worry plainly visible.” You look even paler than usual if that’s even possible.” I quickly shook my head and threw out one of my biggest smiles.

“I’m fine , so you don’t have to worry.” , Reina seemed to ease, but no matter how much more relaxed she looked I could tell she wasn’t convinced.

“Ok I’ll take your word Abel.”, she then peered down at her watch.” We probably should get going.” ,at first she looked a little reluctant but she finally said,” Meet you by the fountain in the courtyard?”

“Yeah, give me ten minutes and I’ll be there.” I answered, Reina stopped walking towards the door. And looked like she was inspecting me from head to toe.

“Honey I think you need more than that, trust me I won’t get mad if you take 30 minutes or an hour, looking for the place where we’ll be meeting Black Jack can wait.. I mean honestly have you seen your hair?” she said . Well considering I was snoozing and rolling on the ground for at east half of the night , could you honestly blame me?

“ Fine but I’m only taking 30 minutes.” she looked at me with disbelief about how I could care so little about appearance, but knowing that she wasn’t going to get anything more out of me, she simply shrugged.

“Suit yourself. , " and with that said she was out of my room in an instant.

After Reina had left it was then that I realized just how vacant my room felt. Though I quickly brushed my feelings aside and got dressed in a pair of black shorts with of course striped , ripped leg warmers, with a black short sleeve jacket. Most people would think that I’m insane dressing as if it was the summer when we were experiencing some pretty cold weather in our area, but as I stepped out the pain of the icy wind that ripple through me just felt relieving, because while I felt hollow and dead inside , pain reminded me that I was very much alive. While walking alongside the dirt road that connected the Below Zero dorm to the rest of the school, I tried to make my bob look somewhat decent. While my very short back presented no problem at all to manage , the front of my hair is a totally different story. Reaching past my elbow, and having it wave and curl in different directions did get annoying even while using a flat iron. In an instant my thoughts immediately turned onto something else. While I tried to ignore the feeling before It was now clear that I was no doubt being watched. I closed my eyes, slowly my senses started to become sharper. I could hear the foot steps of a noisy group of seniors at on the other side of the campus. I could sense that there were groundhogs snuggled up together underground trying to escape the cold, and while I could even tell apart the separate scents of the students that were in large crowds in the festival. Yet more clearly than anything else I could sense a very familiar and powerful presence from up in a large Japanese maple that was less than 15 feet away. I snapped my head up quickly to see non other than Mr. Mask, and while most would be prepared to get a beating with the way he looked ready to jumped. I just stared at him, until I managed to showcase a big grin and randomly wave. I knew that I shouldn’t be wasting anymore time, and so I decided to continue to walk. I knew his glance was on me as I walked away, and while

I was curious to know exactly what he was thinking I wasn’t about to pry into anyone’s mind unless it was totally necessary. I vowed to never make the same mistake…..for the second time.
