I See

I See

A Poem by Emanon
"

this is just a poem i wrote a sad thing i see every day

"

 I See

I see the decay around...

i see people turned away, lying broken in the alleys

by beasts with razor smiles, cement chests and stacks of greed

i see the injustice every day...

people lying on filthy asphalt upon broken shards

of broken dreams

and my heart aches when i see them there dirty, thin and wanting

needing

Some sort of understanding that they rarely...

receive

i look into the eyes of the downtrodden, ill and homeless man with

scraggled beard, dirt upon a broken face

and i see...

i see you there for there you once were

and i would worry wonder if you were...

okay

i ached i cried to think of you sleeping behind some abandoned

building...

abandoned wasteland of abandoned dreams...

and hopes

and now you're gone...

but i still see you in the wanting, sad and glazed eyes of the forgotten, the sad, the helpless the homeless

so when i pass that fellow soul yearning for just one...

piece of human kindness or the

privelege of eye contact

i take whatever change i have and give it readily for...

i see the need the want, the great human tragedy

the fallacy of apathy without action

and i see you when i see them...

i see you there again on the streets

my sister, blood of my blood, flesh of my flesh

heart of my heart...marrow in my bones, warmth in my...

soul

and i miss you but i have to smile

when i pass along a dollar or two...

because I see
