2. Lily

2. Lily

A Chapter by Audrey
"

Now this poem is a little bit tacky since I was blind writing. I had no idea where this poem will go.

"
 Her name was Lily
Like the flowers in her grandma's field.
White and wild,
and intriguing.
As to dawn your soul with fear.
She plays by the rules
and thinks cunningly.
All she needed were guts
and friends to help her needs.
No one listened
to her wild stories
that she made for a reason;
that she fought for seasons.
All she took away
from the voices in her head.
Lily was scared.
Her eyes closed,
hair like the leaves of a willow tree
as she felt the summer wind
upon her olive skin.
Her brother, Dylan
was loved by all.
He thought clearly,
and spoke wisely.
He lacks her spirit
her wits and tricks.
Yet people loved him,
and pitied Lily.
Her heart on her sleeves.
Her mind in a daydream.
She finds beauty in darkest places,
and courage in better times.
Her name was Lily,
like the flowers in her grandma's field.
All she did was listen,
to the sounds around the willow tree.

This is not at all tacky, I really enjoyed it. The formatting works wonderfully, it turns the sentences into concise snippets of thoughts, as if they are occurring to the reader rather than merely being read. And I love how you begin and end with her name, and also the references to the willow tree. Beautiful.
