The Plateau

The Plateau

A Poem by Alan Mark Maynes

We came to the days and the place of peace
Where we found our spirit and forgot the nights that were deceased
The days of regret
The days of suicide
The days of laughter
The days of the good ride
All the delightful and evil things that were said
The life, the living, the dying, the dead
Did you have enough words for a book to be read?
