Birds Are Aeroplanes

Birds Are Aeroplanes

A Poem by Alani
"

About observing, sensing, feeling my reality and thoughts – but also imagining

"

It’s 7:15 and I’m just being
observing, sensing, feeling
my feet on the ground
the noises resound, clinging all around

this town is a waste
but I’m in this space
observing, sensing, feeling
How do I know, when to look up
A red balloon floats by

It’s the smell in the air, when seasons change
the song, familiar, from all those long lost years
I know you’ll return, one fine day, when birds are aeroplanes

It’s 7:16 and I’m still being
observing, sensing, feeling
There’s a cold breeze
in between, the heat I feel from my skin

I seem to miss you all the time
Not just the days that seem lonely
How do I know, when to look up
A meteor shower blazes

Where do the birds all seem to be going?
They look like aeroplanes.
