Empty Space

Empty Space

A Poem by Emma-Joan

As i stare at this empty room
i think about what could've been
had that car not hit you
i look at the pictures
hanging on your wall
and the pages full of letters
you loved to write
it was your passion
but now you've taken flight
i think of what was before
and try to be happy
but you were only four
i try to forget this empty space
always such a mess
now i wish only to see your face

Sad, but very good. I've had similar thoughts after one's passing. Wanting them to still be here, I think we dwell on what physically remains.
