A darkened room so aptly captures the place where many people exist daily. The pain of nonexistence, the lack of dreams and dread of fear is palpable. Overall sadness desperately in need of Hope.
Wow, What a vivid journey.

Oh goodness, did I ever enjoy this.. I am new to posting my words although I have been keeping a secret journal for many years. Since I was 10 tears old and now in my 70's!!!!
I love the true structure of a poem and sonnet and now a quatrain... with absolutely zero education in poetry...I am fascinated by all this... such an adventure..
So ofcourse, I loved yours..I have been getting great help since I recently started posting my work..
Perhaps you might like to read Hand~In ~Hand or Mothers letter... the two I first posted... since that time I have posted several others.. Glad I happened upon your work.. Really so lovely..

All engulfing darkness. Once the eyes grow accustomed to the darkness, not much can transpire should the darkened room be bare. Much to think about here. Thanks for sharing, Alan.

Thanks again for looking in Frederick, a pleasure to share with you.

There might not be anything to see in a darkened room, yet a darkened room can certainly play with the emotions and imagination. It only needs a tiny glimmer of light to alter the situation. You took me back to my childhood where a darkened room brought out fear. All the nasties of ghosts and baddies would come out to play. Your stanzas in quatrains are well crafted and I was pleased to stop by and say hello Alan.

Laughing about Margaret. She was an irritation, not a nightmare :) No apologies needed. I had a great childhood, I was just scared of the dark. Best wishes to you and have a great day
