caution.

caution.

A Poem by alan khan

step lightly over these
these hollowed ground.

it's smog and ash weigh heavy down on the earth..
and ferments the air with poison.

you've acquired your poise and your goodness,
your easy devilish charm
your well developed sense of learn
your body molded from iron..

but there lies behind that ridge.. that same beast
that same temptation toward insecurity.

beware her gaze and cold reserve,
her penchant for selfish reasoning.

you've to not cower away from it.
you've to run toward it so that once and for all,
you overcome that which plagues your doom.

"but there lies behind that ridge that same beast

Better to have no fear and run toward life without stopping. Been plagues for 5000 years and men had survived. This time man is smarter? Create weapons that can destroy his world. A old saying. "A fool and his toys will do him end. Playing with fire. Will burn the spirit of life everywhere." A outstanding poem. You made me think again.
