for the kid i'll never know.

for the kid i'll never know.

A Poem by alan khan

you were a mystery i couldn't even feel
the mistake that wasn't a mistake at all
the result of rage and forgotten lust shared
hidden behind the curtain of a lie so tall.

now in the world carried through
maybe i would have enjoyed just knowing
am i happy for a lack of burden?
maybe peace i would find in a lift of the curtain.

sorry little one for at the time of conception
mommy and daddy were demons and selfish.
but just to hear your whimper into the world
well that might be worth one wish

so keep on rocking kid
wherever you may be
i'll feel comfort in a way
something out there came from me.

It's....different than what you usually write, but it was good. Your stanzas are definitely the most different thing about this poem compared to your other work, but they're good. You do a good transistion between your own style and the standard style of poetry.
