a chipped god.

a chipped god.

A Poem by alan khan

nineteen years in the making.
the experiment is complete.

do not strike me for
the infliction of narcissism.

i have burned in trial
and earned one's right
to look upon you with cockiness tenfold.

i have overcome the bloodshed of others,
the dreams of those passed and burned
i have made peace with the monster..
that gave birth to my insatiable wrath.

i have move passed my madness
overcome fate,
death,
and bliss itself.

only left my being with sin.

i am magic.

i am the first of my kind.

i am everything i want to be.

i am whatever i want to be.

i am beyond what has ever been dreamed of.

i am the sun on earth,
and i burn.

I really enjoyed this, it took a different twist on a sort of self-portrait. The last lines really brought the entire piece together, great job.

And you're only 19 son! Just wait ten years, and you'll be a freakin' SUPERNOVA. Hahaha, a great piece of free form right here... flows nicely, and is a compelling portrait of self reflection.

If we do not blaze with confidence who will ignite us? The world is a breeze forever blowing cool cutting speech and actions our direction. You must burn from the inside. Your heart must remain your daystar. I loved this balmy brilliance of a poem.

those last two lines.. sum it all up in a searingly epic form. i love the repetition of "i am.." it hammers the point home - that you ARE.

fiercely defiant write - not just life affirming but SELF-affirming.

wicked piece..

Wow. This is going in my library.
Nice word choice, rhyming pattern and style. It's really good. It shows how strong you are. Nice work, you fancy deep person.
This is really good. Did I mention that? I need to mention it again: it's really good. I don't know what else to say about it, it's just that good.
