Chapter 10

Chapter 10

A Chapter by alan khan

Julia steps forward quickly, her tone fashionably different now. "Obrean this is Khan."

"Ahh," His green eyes, shadowed by the thick mustache resting on his lip turning to look at him now, "So this is the man who's taken care of my friend Bear here. Thank you, i believed my finest soldier to be gone. Then i hear of this daring rescue outside-"

"Sorry," Khan gently stops Obrean, "Soldier?"

Bear and Julia steal a glance at one another as Obrean keeps on, with his perfectly timed speech, "Yes, he is one of many in our revolution."

Khan was beginning to understand the tension he felt when he first stepped into Bear's hut. "Revolution against what?"

Obrean stared at Khan, "Have you no eyes? You've been in this city, and experienced enough i believe to understand.. we are revolting against that tyrannical monster Carlucious. We are the Crimson Resistance, and we, my soldiers and I, will not stand for this dictatorship."

"And you believe...a small resistance can overthrow an entire kingdom."

Obrean's soft child like features wrinkled and creased to the point of him resembling a warthog. His frustration was more than apparent, and Khan felt himself unusually satisfied. There was something in Obrean that Khan found fed the pain in his chest. And this only grew worse as Obrean continued to speak. "I believe we have to try. I believe everyman should give himself to the cause."

"You mean to you.."

Obrean bit his lower lip, "There is a celebration around the fire tonight, in honor of Bear stopping the taking of my Julia." Khan's anger spikes and stings him as he watches Julia walk over to Obrean, her head down. "I think it is appropriate if you decide you want to attend. Come Julia, it's almost night, let's finish getting ready." He takes her by the hand, and she walks out after him

Khan turns to Bear as he shrugs his wide shoulders, "Julia belongs to that man?"

Bear takes his time nodding his head. "I found myself almost letting Carlucious' men take her. Save her from him."

"I'd have done the same my friend."
