why do we do these things

why do we do these things

A Poem by alan khan

we wake.
we eat.
we rush.
we take s**t.
we take A s**t (god willing)

day in day out.
we embrace that which we hate.
which we loathe.

take a constant
f*****g constant
neverending constant
beating,
lashing,

all of these things.

and in the night,
when passion,
warmth,
and the bathing in moon light
should overcome.

we  rest from the day of s**t.
to hopefully rebuild the lost strength
for the new day of s**t.

(this applies not to everyone.
only to those suffering.

not those whining.)

we do it why?
we live through it why?

love?
responsibility?

fear?

perhaps a culmination of all three of those
diseased curses.

for me
why i do it...?

Angry a piece this is.How many times we have thought to ourselves that as days pile on us..all of it is but futile.Despite of this realization we somehow can not break out of it all.I guess more of your anger and also many of ours is aimed more at our inability to overcome the repeated patterns of behaviour rather than the habits itself.Well expressed.

This piece seems quite angery and it's a bit saddening. It holds a good question for some in such a situation. I haven't personally reached that point in my life, my problems coming and fleeting on a milder plain, so to say I understand wouldn't be correct, but it's an understandable thing, being it makes sense in my head.

often I mysef lean back out of the fray wondering what's the point of all these mad rusharounds we engage in like firefies gone insane and lit up all the time~ and then there come these moments interspersed through all the ugly out there that are all the more breathtakingly beautiful because most of existence IS struggle and s**t~
but those brief moments~ they rebuild the broken foundations for a while~and for those instantanious flashes we can glimpse the potential that we are just a few breaths shy of as a species~ do I believe we'll ever attain a perfected harmonious existence>~ nope~ because the dumbed down automaton sheeple outnumber the vibrant human beings by far~

All these responsibilities were born with man, and will still be around for thousands of years..........long after the sun goes down, such a very stark piece, looking at us as species who daily plod through tiresome emotions, and why do we do it? I guess, the belief it will get better, for every good there is bad.........a very thought provoking piece.
