through.

through.

A Poem by alan khan

now i walk down this hard road
no shoes strapped to my feet
i've been living off insanity
my words and madness all i eat

the sun bakes the pavement
and i run from clouds
memories haunting my head
it's film reel spinning around

i can see the things ive lost
and can taste my own fear
i can still feel my own ghosts
it's cold chill drawing near.

i wonder what put me in this place
what could i have done for this fowl
off in that distance
a lone wolf does howl.

i travel to the end of this road
and find nothing at all
i've lost all reality
my skin begins to crawl.

i drop to my knees
and yell to the sea
please something out there
answer me.

how do i get out
what do i do
and i hear a voice reply
the only way out is through.
