Endless Lanes Of CobblestonesA Poem by Alan L BolesObservations while sitting at Starbucks in downtown Gainesville Floridaas life fades
into each stone cold and barren through the spinning dark from metal shoes to rolling rings of iron as slapping leather to blackened rings of rolling rubber those faded dreams and prayers forsaken in times of woe and whetted cheeks of salty drips as silence speaks in empty laughs as sober lost pain full moments now a blurry haze as could have been moments live in a forgotten dream like broken rungs on an end less ladder in a pit of despair for as watering eyes do not see beyond the rippling water of endless time like those empty pools on the long lost faces on the endless lanes of cobblestones © 2011 Alan L Boles |
