A Poem by Aladdin Soltan

The steady flow of emotions ceases to flow through my veins
Now I just bleed red like the sane
The world feels a bit colder
My body, much older
My actions, not much bolder
My eyes no longer precipitate
And my heart seems to hibernate
Maybe one day I can learn to appreciate
But for now nothing can alleviate
It's difficult to tell if this is for the best
All that's for sure is I can't be upset
They all said I was being so dumb
And now I feel so numb
The boy who cried wolf also played with fire
Cold concrete, torn pants, liar liar
We try to spit out philosophy, create a prophecy but it's nothing but hypocrisy
It's all just hypothesis lacking the education
It all just ends up becoming regurgitation
We are not vegetation, not actors in a movie
I'm in need of something real to move me
Sooth me
Groove me
For now I am a rhythm-less song
Each hook and verse lasts much to long
Life feels like endless traffic lights
Watch them pretend there blind so they see no sights
The infinite loop becomes my walkway
I'm nothing but mis-formed clay
I've been misinformed about the time of day
I expect to see light but it's not only dark at night
Those pretenders become my reality
The criminals hold the master key
And they pick at my soul
I'm on fire but can't stop drop and roll
So this Phoenix vanishes in a fiery blaze
But will it return to amaze
Oh it prays
