Call it a comeback

Call it a comeback

A Poem by Aladdin Soltan

Am I just another guy
Why does my life have to be filled with sorrow
I dread the nights but hate waking up to tomorrow
I'm the kind of man that needs a whole army to bring him down
I always rise to my feet with triumphant sound
I've been to hell and back and I'm sure you have too
But why is it we choose these goals to pursue
That bring us so much pain and hardship
Because the happiness can carry for years like a cargoship
I was built to last
I could be last and catch up to first place so fast
It's mind over matter for a man over disaster
I don't have to much on my plate;it's a platter
Sometimes the words in my head move so quick so my feet move faster
Until I lay on my back gasping for life
But what I don't know is under back is that sneaky knife of life
No one to blame but the universe
Sometimes it does thing we just can't reverse
And it's perverse to think that I won't be back on my feet with another verse
I thank The Lord for my blessing but mostly my curses
In the back of my mind I know it'll all be worth it
