Crowded Mind

Crowded Mind

A Poem by Reuben Porter
"

A poem about how the mind can become cluttered to a point where people wish to be rid of it all.

"

Through the shadows,

I will walk,

I will not stop,

Expressing thoughts.

I will travel

Throughout time,

Until I soothe

My troubled mind.

I will not stop to eat or sleep,

I will not stop pounding my feet

against the gravel on the road.

If I don't speak out I might explode.

The voices in my head

Drive me from my bed,

The force me not to stop

Pushing through my thoughts.

Oh how the voices get to me,

I dream one day that I'll be free

from the voices for all time.

One day I'll leave my crowded mind.
