The weight of lack of love unbound,
I listen closely to the sound,
of church bells ringing, as gold harps play,
Cupid’s arrow has come my way.
Around her finger, I slip a ring,
such a glorious, beauteous thing,
with this girl, I’ll spend my life,
together we’ll be, through joy and strife.
My life I’ll give, this wonderful girl,
she’s worth more to me than diamonds and pearls,
each night I lay awake in bed,
as I rest on my pillow, my heavy head,
I picture in my mind her face,
she’ll always in my heart have place.
