The End

The End

A Poem by Anima Akuffo
"

That moment when a dear friend dies...

"
The drum lost its beat
When your heart.. ceased
The river lost its flow
When your blood.. "freezed"
The winds could not blow
Still air..still lungs retreat

A bird's trill slits the air
We hear what we don't care
leaves drop motionless
homage to brokenness
Leaden skies gather close
Limp limbs in still repose

An empty space
Holds a steady gaze
A hollow cry
Tears a dry eye
An empty shell
Has lots to tell

In the end
The tales are mere reviews
At the end
The songs are sung anew
To this end
We whisper 'friend adieu'

Wow thanks. I'm like so chuffed..gee thanks Elmarie. You're special. Be blessed.
This was very beautifully written. I've only lost one person very dear to me and it stings still, it will always but I suppose for her it is better, peaceful. This one really touched me.
