The SameA Poem by Akshay
I sit in front of a mirror
Talking, endlessly Laughing, like a kid Saying things I'll never hide again Looking at what I wish I had been Two years ago One year ago we're just the same I sit in front of myself Talking philosophy wish I could apply it use it, a life cheat sheet Laughing, like we never did Saying things that I never can replay Two months ago one month ago It's all the same I sit in front of a virtual you Talking, fragile thoughts fragile heart, take it apart steal my candle, blow me out Breathing on your neck skipping things that I guess Two days ago One day ago it will always be the same I sit in front of a younger me Thinking what I said words, just words nothing more, not particularly less Where have I gone what have I become I warned but never listened One future day One future month One year ahead You and I will never be the same © 2014 AkshayAuthor's Note
