Drinking You, Remembering Time

Drinking You, Remembering Time

A Poem by Akshay

It's 3 am again
I can't tell,
I've been sitting here forever now
It all begins
A glass,
three bottles,
spinning words from friends

It's tremble time again
I can tell,
I've bumped into poles
spilled drinks on people I barely know
Your multicolored leggings
I've arrived at twenty decisions
I can't decide on one and go

It's question time again
I can tell,
I've been wondering the point of the human race
Your seductive loving
The bulb overhead is fused,
I'm still flowing with brilliant ideas - that's what I think, anyway

It's your time again
I can tell,
I've been thinking of your stretched eyes
The friends around are grieving
On the phone,
"darling, I'm sorry, it wasn't really a lie"

It's 10 PM again
I can tell,
I've been waiting for the clock to arrive at this junction
It'll be your time again
For now,
I'll gulp three drinks,
talk about corruption
