Too Proud A Generation

Too Proud A Generation

A Poem by Akshay
"

What the title says, I try to convey

"
Everybody shows a mirror neuron reaction
What they said, is what we say today
What they felt, is what we feel today
The things they took in order to escape
Has that helped us be here?

We're all mirrors placed in front of mirrors
When one lies, do you lie too?
When one dies, why don't you die too?

I'm not trying to put you down
But there's no looking up when you're underground
All the fathers walked out when it got cold
All the children make up stories that they wish they were told

They programmed and put a software in you
So you can hide with ease what's killing you
You always talk tongue in cheek
They make a command, now you don't know what to seek

There's no point in letting you down
You're already drowned in others' sound
All the mothers said it's alright
The kids can't help you, their thoughts always fight
