THE OUTRAGE

THE OUTRAGE

A Poem by Akinlolu

I was coming from the secret place of thunder
A little boy raised in the house of mirrors
I met you in the land of whispers,
a fairy princess on the run from horrors.

We were destined to own a kingdom
I on the throne and you by my side.
You've changed and now you want to know the state of my income?
I ignore the outrage. I've grown deaf to the call of suicide.

Funny how we grow in ways others don't expect. And then the anger the at can come when you realize they aren't who they once were... But that's natural, right? We are supposed to change. Some change in a way that doesn't match us how we used to, or they change in a way that stagnates growth.

Pretty nosy I would say, and Don’t let anyone get away with that statement…some people are money hungry… and make one feel worthless, but that’s an awful burden to carry….and those money hungriest are dregs of the earth…..well done

You're very welcome!
Warmly, B.
You have to beware of gold digging females only in it for the money. Likewise, men who value a woman only for her looks will stick around only until a better looking woman comes along. My point is, shallow people are morally vapid to the point of depravity. But never let anyone devalue your self worth. You are better than that and if they don't appreciate you, someone else will.

My pleasure.
I am sincerely glad you don't hear that call anymore. More than one person has done the deed when a relationship has gone on the rocks, which is one reason we must be careful of attachments, no matter how strong the attraction. It sounds as though the young lady's taste has taken a material turn. I hope something can be salvaged; if not, she may be doing you a favor.

Just when we think someone loves us for who we are, their true character rears its ugly head and heart....
and we feel so used, but we just have to pick ourselves off the mat and realize we are worth it and worth someone who has real love for us.
I really like this piece....and relate very much to the last line.
