Serious CappuccinoA Poem by akihsnaAn afternoon sun shone to the sight of our brimming cups
Whilst our coffee breaths mingled together into words Oh, the scent of that café as it welcomed small crowds With the trade of smiling faces and warm 'hello's and 'hi's The Cappuccino was no more a mystery to my eyes And its aroma kissed my nose like a long-lost lover Where the arabesque frothed cream relaxed in white The quirky coffee curlicues glided in between Sugar? What sugar? Our cappuccinos were serious But they danced, all graceless, on their way to our lips With smiles that turned to table-banging laughs To the coming-out of doltish teenage confessions Our fists had fun bumping chests countless times As the evening whistled to the wind in my favourite song. © 2014 akihsna |
