Everlasting Tick

Everlasting Tick

A Poem by akihsna

Time had a sundial; he waited every day.
 Each move of the shadows drove him eager yet afraid;
  If he could stop himself, only to treasure the forbidden..

Time had an hour- glass; he anticipated all the way.
 Every grain of falling sand left his words unsaid;
  If he could stop himself, only to cherish the memories forgotten..

Time had a pendulum- clock; he watched its legs sway.
 They walked without halting as it was not keen for aid;
  If he could stop himself, only to embrace the forsaken..

Time has a watch; which he contemplates come what may.
 Its hands were cuffed and for his sins, it paid.
   If he could stop himself, only to live as the one, forgiven..

   But he cannot since he's gone astray!

I love how you built the concept with bricks consisting of the evolution of instruments created to measure time; only to plummet into insanity of always working and never having the time to rest and absorb the situation of the century.
