CowardA Poem by AkibNo, I’m just gonna put a finger on my mouth and sit quiet. I’ll be the deaf, dumb and blind. I’m just gonna turn up the music louder and ignore the massacre. I gonna close my eye and turn my back to all the humanly principles. I’m gonna close the tape, and pretend dead and save my own head. And as another bomb hits Aleppo, 3k confirmed deaths, I’ll turn on my TV and enjoy the bloodshed. There are no hospitals and no cure, But a million bodies left on the floor, Mistreated, in pain and ignored. Son shot dead on the wareth road, I will thank God no-one that I know and I’ll turn back and lock the door. It’s just another day. And everything's just okay. Six years now, thing’s been this way And I’ll stay shush cause it doesn’t matter what I say. Human Rights is a luxury that the Syrians can’t afford. It’s only for the white collared killers in black coats. And I’m not saying the world doesn’t give a s**t. In fact they do, they do indeed... They’ll load their guns and wage a new war to establish that same old peace. It’s a circle of death, circle of deceit, all it shows is our empathy for injustice. But what has it to do with me, I’m a man living free. That girl they raped was not the sister of mine, so tonight I’ll sleep just fine.
