Arabella

Arabella

A Poem by Anti-Society
"

The effects of falling in love with a materialistic person

"
Do you remember how you found my heart
Beating innocently,  conservative but observing
An innocent by-stander in life
Not guilty, un-involved
With your arrival
You set it on fire and put it on a racing track
Constantly in motion
You couldn't appreciate my smooth poetry
but you did enjoy roller coasters
So I jumped on next to you
and rode between heaven and hell for over a year
long solitary walks were not of your taste
I put my heart into parties and I celebrated what I felt
because I was no longer as un involved as I was
but I didn't always like it
My heart beat too loudly
But ultimately, my undoing was that you did not care for
Deep thought, thorough understanding or a depth in music
So my heart took a dive, anticipating accommodation
but it crashed and cracked on the shallow floor
Damaged, hurt and clinging for strength
but open, vulnerable and more guilty than ever
Even though you were never
