Ole GloryA Poem by Adelina Keith
I love to watch Ole Glory fly.
My heart swells with pride, As I begin to cry. She’s a symbol for something So much bigger than herself - Freedom, Blood, and Sacrifice. There’s no partisan divide In her tapestry. All fifty states Are there in unity. O’er many battle fields She has flown And paved the way For those to come. Every fallen soldier She follows home. Because of them, I dare not bow. There are those who hate her. Me? I love her. I’ll fly her high and fly her proud. And on my lips the familiar words, “One nation under God, indivisible With liberty and justice for all.” © 2022 Adelina KeithFeatured Review
