NOTHINGNESS

NOTHINGNESS

A Poem by Joicy Christopher

My Friend Shadow doesn’t have a proper growth.
Sometimes he is taller as a house,
Sometimes he is shorter as a mouse.

My friend Shadow is also uncouth.
Sometimes he is a Coward,
Because he hides behind.
Sometimes he is Capitalistic by being forward.
For which I’ll never mind,
Because I’m his identity.

He is like a partial mirror,
And he is also a conjuror.
Who plays hide and seek with me,
Just like the emotions I used to pelt.

Hence, these shadows and emotions, I would treasure by recreating,
So they would not become volatile or fragile.

Something I learnt from my Shadow- is,
How much ever we grow tall,
We will surely fall.

“Yes, the pinnacle of Knowledge is nothingness”
