Spring

Wildflowers bloom through hardship, and you will too.
A new horizon is waiting for you.
Pick up your broken pencils,
clean off your slate,
dance with the devil,
but never tempt fate.

Trade your sword for flowers
and your tears for April showers,
dance with the lilacs
and spin with the spades,
a new day is beginning
before tomorrow has been made.

This is a well-written poem using strong rhythm & rhyme, imparting a solid impactful message. My only bump is seeing imagery like this: "dance with the devil" . . . "trade tears for April showers" . . . "new day is beginning" . . . which I feel could be made more original and relying less on tired often-used ideas. Just changing one single word can make something more fresh . . . Ex: "spin a jig with the devil" . . . or: "trade face sprinkles for raindrop twinkles" . . . Of course, your brand of originality will be different from mine, but just try to stretch a little when you find yourself reaching for common imagery. Dig deeper for something uncommon. This poem is beautifully crafted & does not deserve to be overhauled. I'm just putting out ideas for future writing (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
