The Past

I wrote this poem, because I always get tired of people telling me how horrible I am, because of my past. Yes, I have done some stupid things, but who hasn't? I just want people to get over my past.

What happened to the saying 
'Whatever happens in the past stays in the past'?

No matter what I do

No matter what I accomplish

No matter what I say

People can't get past my past

I know I did some stupid things in my past

Heck, a lot of stupid things

But the past is the past

So, can we just make the past be the past?

I think there is too much repetition of the word 'past' in this poem. But except for that, it's a really good and captivating poem. Very good. :)

I will. I find that the word past was repeated so many times, because I thought it would help emphasis what I am saying.

I understand this completely. Unfortunately, forgiveness isn't high in popularity now. All I can say is keep doing what you need to be the person you want to be and it will be fine. Love the poem as I can relate.

Thanks for the review. I actually wrote this poem a long time ago, when I was still in high school and going through a lot at the time.
