Paper Skin upon Painted Souls

Paper Skin upon Painted Souls

A Poem by AirGlide

~*~

We cover our paper thin skin
in ever darker shades of ink

Paint pretty little pictures
over all of our scars
as we dream out into the stars

Ask of the universe
why can't this love be ours
~
One day, another painted soul
crosses upon our lonely path

We circle one another
Admiring the colorful scenery
and sharing an intimate dance
 ~
We can't help but to reach out,
try and grab hold

Inevitably we accidentally tear into
that paper thin skin

Leaving our marks upon one another
 ~
Craters upon which,
the future ink will set in
