Shatter and Burn

Shatter and Burn

A Poem by AirGlide

I noticed you,
once inside of a dream
Swaying insouciantly
upon a bridge built of paper and glass
in a cold wet silence.

Mesmerizing

I wanted to offer you
a song and some advice
Steal a kiss
beneath a ravenous moonlight

Somehow I knew you would rather
face the fierce winds alone
and you put on quite a show

I admired you for it

Just had to leave you with
this anecdote
An alibi for the words
that you hadn't yet spoke

A steely hammer
and a blazing match

In case you might ever
wonder If there is someone,
anyone out here who
understands
