The only thing I've ever wanted

Is an Other who’s all my own

Someone to walk through life with

Into any, every, all unknown;

As a child I begged for a sibling

As a girl I hoped for a best friend

As a maiden I prayed for a lover

To be my soul-mate until the end.

Now that I'm almost a woman

I know I can walk this life alone

Since that's what I've done for so long now

Yet still I hope for the Other my own;

Someone I can give my halved heart to

Someone I'd loyally always defend

A person who truly will love me

Lord I pray more than angel will send.

This was truly touching! I think we all go through life waiting and wondering it we shall find that perfect "Other" Some one to meld our hearts with a become one whole. It's true that we have the strength with in to stand on our own. But we would like more, and we know that at some level, more is out there, just waiting to be discovered. We have hope and that keeps us looking even when our day to day life has become a priority.
