Tell Me Now or I Yield

Tell Me Now or I Yield

A Poem by Ma. Aileen Canizares Salibay
"

Smitten like a kitten

"
Eros's random strikes in my salad days
Often threw me in the river of tears
But not once did I gripe
For tales of tears and joy never get dull.

A stray arrow now hit me once again
Odd it is when my eyes meet his
A harp plays from heaven to earth
Even a thousand masks can't hide blush on my cheeks.

He is an opium I couldn't resist
The reason behind the air castles I build
And though mind unfolds reality
It still yields and lets the heart live in fantasy.

Blame me not
If I turn days into nights
For in this field of game
I seem to play the role of Eponine.

If only dreams had lips,
He'd know I am in a fiasco.
If only a toss of coin could foresee
Then my heart and mind would be at peace.

Eros, hear out this weary heart
If in this time our love doesn't exist
Then be kind and let me rest
Cast this spell to his pair instead.
