Genesis and Infinity

Genesis and Infinity

A Poem by ImperialTroll
"

The humble translation of an event with limitless magnitude: The birth of Yggdrasil, the world tree.

"

The offspring of a dying storm

Cast down and overthrown

Like a speck of dust, the greater force

Becomes an insect, an atom

In the eon of unlimited strength...

It forged the primordial white noise

The specters of magnetic anomaly grow

Like roots in the stone,

The floods of nebulae

Flow through the veins

Of the immortal tree.

A nightfall dominates

And gives birth to immense light…

The forging of a new world

Is now at hand,

Manufactured planets collide

Fragments of the great becoming

Melt down in a river of creation

Particles of a deity

Swallowed by the timeless void,

The clockwork of a horizon

Chaotic yet precise.

Beyond what was never born or built

The great almighty emptiness

Never alive, immortal.

The silence has never been more horrid

Striking the senses like a hammer of sound

The baying of god-like fusions

A galactic stillborn in the absence.

The shape is growing

Ever sovereign and vast

The body grows, colossal

burning with pulses of energy

silver clouds and red flares flow roaring,

The tree of all creation stands tall

Like most of the poems I write, this was originally written as lyrics for a black metal song, so it didn't include a certain assonance.
