Trees are amazing Living sentinels They protect us Whispering Hidden knowledge To those who Are willing to listen Giving us shade Air to breathe Offering life Wherever they plant Holding each other up Supporting each other And everything around them We should all learn To take more after trees And revere them For the amazing Life giving Sentinels of the forrest Instead of cutting them down
"We should all learn to be more like trees." As written now, very awkward. Escaping the demands of life, by going to the mountains and being among the trees, is one of the most satisfying things I can do.
This first part here reminds me of the tree in Pocahontas:
"Trees are amazing
Living sentinels
They protect us
Whispering
Hidden knowledge
To those who
Are willing to listen"
I love how you spoke of this here, so true, would love to see forests remaining up as well:
"Offering life
Wherever they plant
Holding each other up
Supporting each other
And everything around them
We should all learn
To take more after trees"
Far too many trees are cut to make way for the kind of growth which man thinks he needs to make more money! This is a sad practice. Trees give us much. Your poem speaks of how valuable they are to us!

God I just love the topics that you write about! I know when one writes poetry, it comes from the heart. So it's nice to see that you care about the earth so much. And yes, it's a good point that trees are sentinels of the forest.
