Broken Heart

Broken Heart

A Poem by Ahmad Cox
"

I wrote this for one of my friends who's friend's kid passed away but upon reading it again I realize how much it fits to the situation to the mothers and parents that are dealing with the massacre.

"

We hurt
Sometimes life
Can seem like it
Doesn't make sense
It can feel
Like we hurt
We are in pain
Life can hit us hard
When we least expect it
Its tough to lose a child
Its a hurt
And a pain
That too many mothers
Have had to feel
Wondering
What they might have
Done different
Might it have made
A difference
Ultimately
Even through
The hurt
Even through
The turmoil
And the crying
And the pain
And the doubt
Sometimes
It takes seeing
The bigger picture
To truly see the plan
Being able
To feel the pain
Being present in the pain
That loss can bring
But also being able
To let it go
Releasing the hurt
And the pain
And the confusion
And understanding
There is always a plan
Even though you may wonder
If it is God's way of punishing you
Or even God's joke
There is always a plan
Their souls were ready
It was their time
While you
Still have time
Here on Earth
But they will always
Be watching
Always still be with you
In your heart
As long as you
Remember them
And when
Its your time
To return
Your hearts will join
You will meet again
No one ever truly leaves
We are always still here
Waiting to return home
When we are called
So don't fear
Even though it might
Hurt for a little while
Take comfort in the fact
That they have simply
Returned home

A friend requested me to send a poem for a friend who's child died before he was born. This poem was born out of that request.

No problem. I always like knowing my poems can have a positive effect.
It's difficult to find words of solace to a mother and father at a time like this, but your words would go a long way to bring comfort. i think the correct English would be-What they might have done differently. Great job!

I am glad you could feel that intention behind it.
Touching and very sad, but it does give hope to those who have lost.

Thank you. I am glad you could see that in my poem.
so touching poem, that i have no wors to express my feeling...The tragedies that happen in the world are so many and seem so "absurd" like we never can imagine or try to understand ...and yes, everything has plan, the little children are angels now. we are so short time here and we will go to our true Home with GOD..one day, i feel all your words, my friend!

Sometimes it is hard to see God's plan when we are in immense pain. As a widow I know this, but ........in time I saw that there was a plan. Patience and faith pays off. Well done
