Pleasing the world
Can seem easy sometimes
It can feel easy sometimes
To give in to world
Giving in to the pleasure
And the whims of every one else
Not being yourself and fighting the norm
It can be easier to try and fit in
Try to be normal in this crazy world
But ultimately what is normal
Isn't whats best
You have to be willing
To be yourself
Bucking the mold
Learning to please yourself
And your own individuality
Rather than trying to please
The world and everyone else

Wise words Ahmad. Going along with the norm may seem easier, but is it really? For a while perhaps, but by doing so we lose a sense of our individuality leaving us feeling empty and unwell. "Learning to please yourself" as you put it may seem selfish, but in this context it's not. It's about learning who you are supposed to be.

The concept is very hard for us humans to actually do I have noticed. We always talk about being unique, but it is so much harder to use actions to stand behind that.

I enjoyed reading this poem and am adding it to my bookshelf to remind me to be and act unique.
